Chiswick and Brentford East update |
||
|
As always, thank you for being members of Met Engage and please continue to encourage your neighbours and communities to sign up.
It was a busy March for Chiswick and Brentford East NPT.
In a blitz on Shoplifters we arrested and Summoned 7 offenders to court. A number of those identified as persistent and repeat offenders we are seeking Criminal Behaviour Orders through the courts and have a number of hearings lined up. Three have already been given prison sentences and a number of others are pending.
Following a reported stabbing of a youth near Sutton Court Road we deployed to the incident and assisted our colleagues from Emergency Response Team with the situation, using our local knowledge we identified and located the suspects with all three taken to custody. The investigation is currently still ongoing.
One evening we responded to a call of a recently stolen motorcycle and using a tracker on the vehicle were able to chase down the live location resulting in the offenders abandoning the vehicle and making off. Although they got away on this occasion the motorcycle was successfully returned to its owner and shows the importance of having such devices fitted.
As part of a County Lines intensification, we conducted a number weapons sweeps recovering two knives, an ANPR operation where we seized two illegal e-Bikes and visited Hotels across all areas to educate staff on the signs to watch out for in relation to criminally exploited youths.
We also ran a Violence Against Woman and Girls event with Brentford FC Community Trust. PC Storey gave a presentation to parents and youth coaches around dangers, safety advice and what work we are doing to reduce these issues. More follow up work is being planned for the Brentford FC Ladies Teams.
Across the Chiswick and Brentford East Wards the Ward Officers and PCSOs have been targeting hotspots identified by residents as drug and ASB problems. We will continue to make areas safer and drive out unwanted behaviour.
Thanks again,
PS O’Donnell 164WA
